Relief Security Officer

About the role

Join First Response Group as a Relief Security Officer and help keep our premises safe and welcoming. You will work on‑site at a busy location in Kettering, providing a professional security presence for staff, visitors and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular internal and external patrols to deter unauthorised access, damage and suspicious behaviour.
• Monitor CCTV systems and other security equipment to maintain continuous site surveillance.
• Control entry and exit points, verify identification, issue passes and enforce access policies.
• Respond swiftly to alarms, emergencies and incidents, liaising with emergency services when required.
• Provide clear directions and assistance to visitors, ensuring a courteous and secure environment.
• Maintain accurate daily logs, incident reports and handover notes in line with compliance standards.
• Identify potential health and safety hazards and report them according to site policies.
• Assist with fire safety procedures, evacuation drills and overall emergency preparedness.

Required profile

• Dedicated and reliable security professional with a strong sense of vigilance.
• Ability to act quickly and follow established emergency procedures.
• Excellent communication skills and a courteous, approachable demeanor.
• Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Willingness to work flexible hours as required by a relief schedule.
