Relief Support Worker – Flexible Shifts

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic Relief Support Workers to provide person‑centred care for adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs and other support requirements in Stockport, Greater Manchester. The role offers flexible, short‑term shifts—including evenings, weekends and sleep‑ins—allowing you to fit work around study, caring responsibilities or other commitments.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver respectful personal care and support with daily living tasks in the home.
• Assist service users with community activities and help them engage with local groups.
• Support individuals with health or behaviour needs to maintain wellbeing.
• Use personalised communication approaches and build trusting relationships with users and their families.
• Record shift details and bookings via the SONA electronic system.

Required profile

• Previous experience in care or support work (essential).
• Motivated, hardworking and able to work flexible hours.
• Eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship.
• Committed to inclusive, anti‑racist values and respectful practice.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the SONA electronic booking system.
