Relief Worker – Part‑time (Middlesbrough)

About the role

We are seeking a part‑time Relief Worker to join our team at The Stages in Middlesbrough. The role involves providing high‑quality, customer‑focused support to residents, helping to maintain their dignity, health and wellbeing in a safe environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver customer‑oriented service under the direction of the scheme manager and support team.
• Assist residents with daily care and support needs, promoting their independence.
• Cover shifts on short notice, ensuring continuity of service.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with colleagues and external partners.

Required profile

• Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds, whether through personal, volunteer or professional roles.
• Demonstrated compassion, patience and empathy.
• Strong customer focus and excellent written and verbal communication.
• Flexibility to work varying hours and adapt to changing schedules.
• Positive attitude and ability to work well within a team.
