Religious Education Teacher – Secondary School (SE2)

About the role

We are seeking a committed Religious Education Teacher to join a secondary school in Southwark, South East London, starting September 2025. The role is full‑time and permanent, teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4 in a vibrant, diverse community.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess RE lessons for KS3 and KS4.
• Promote respectful discussion of belief, morality and meaning.
• Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Contribute to pastoral care and restorative discipline approaches.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and school initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) with a specialism or strong background in Religious Education.
• Proven ability to manage behaviour and build constructive relationships with students.
• Resilient, courageous and able to thrive in challenging environments while maintaining high expectations.
• Team‑oriented with a commitment to continuous improvement.
