Rental Controller / Administrator – Truck & Trailer Hire

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Rental Controller/Administrator to manage our truck and trailer hire operations. You will act as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring smooth booking, compliance and billing processes for a diverse fleet that includes curtain siders, box trailers and double‑deckers.

Key responsibilities

• Answer phone calls and record rental bookings accurately.
• Process compliance paperwork and rental agreements, sending them to customers as required.
• Obtain weekly purchase order numbers and enter data into the internal billing platform.
• Handle de‑hire damage assessments and meet customer SLA commitments.
• Collaborate with the rental manager and operations team to keep vehicles road‑worthy and ready for hire.
• Maintain up‑to‑date motor insurance and operator licences on the FOX system daily.
• Prepare and dispatch necessary paperwork on vehicle delivery and collection.
• Support financial audits and produce regular reports for the Group Operations Manager.

Required profile

• Current driving licence.
• Strong telephone etiquette and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure with a "can‑do" attitude.
• Team player who can communicate clearly across departments.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of IT systems for data entry and reporting.

What we offer

• £28,000 annual salary.
• Monday‑Friday 08:00‑17:30 schedule plus occasional Saturdays.
• 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, with loyalty bonus after two years.
