Repairs Manager – Housing Disrepair & HHSRS

About the role

We are seeking a Repairs Manager to lead the delivery of housing disrepair, HHSRS compliance and damp‑mould remediation across our portfolio. The role safeguards tenant health, ensures legal compliance and drives timely, high‑quality repairs.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end housing disrepair cases, coordinating pre‑ and post‑litigation processes.
• Act as primary liaison with legal teams, surveyors and external stakeholders.
• Respond to claims within statutory times, minimising financial exposure and reputational risk, including adherence to Awaab’s Law.
• Oversee HHSRS inspections, risk assessments and the development of corrective action plans.
• Lead the strategy for diagnosing, managing and preventing damp and mould, ensuring rapid investigation and effective remediation.
• Supervise contractors and multidisciplinary teams to deliver repairs and preventative works.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing housing disrepair cases and related legal processes.
• Strong knowledge of HHSRS, housing legislation and Awaab’s Law.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and remediate damp and mould in residential properties.
• Experience leading contractors and multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Relevant professional qualification (e.g., building surveying, construction or housing) – membership of RICS or CIOB desirable.
