Repairs Supervisor

About the role

Axis CLC is seeking an experienced Repairs Supervisor to lead a team of trade operatives delivering responsive repairs, planned works and maintenance across social housing and property portfolios in East London. The role involves hands‑on supervision, performance management and ensuring high‑quality, safe service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise operatives and subcontractors delivering responsive repairs and maintenance.
• Ensure jobs are completed on time, to specification and within budget.
• Manage productivity, performance and quality through monitoring and site visits.
• Review completed works, coding accuracy and variation justifications.
• Liaise with planners, administrators and client teams to maintain workflow and reporting.
• Deliver toolbox talks, risk assessments and site inspections, promoting safety and continuous improvement.
• Support resource planning and coordinate out‑of‑hours service when required.
• Build strong relationships with residents, clients and colleagues.
• Mentor apprentices and develop team capability.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Repairs Supervisor or Senior Operative in social housing or property maintenance.
• Excellent technical knowledge across multiple trades.
• Understanding of Health & Safety, RAMS and compliance processes.
• Experience managing teams and monitoring performance metrics.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• CSCS card and supervisory safety training (SSSTS / SMSTS and/or IOSH Managing Safely preferred).
• Full UK driving licence.
