Repairs Supervisor – Property Services

About the role

Axis CLC is seeking an experienced Repairs Supervisor to lead a team of trade operatives delivering responsive repairs and maintenance for social housing and property clients across the UK. The role combines hands‑on supervision with performance management to ensure work is completed safely, on time and to high quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise operatives and subcontractors delivering responsive repairs and planned maintenance.
• Ensure jobs are completed on schedule, to specification and within budget.
• Monitor productivity, performance and quality through regular site visits and reporting.
• Review completed works, verify coding accuracy and manage variations.
• Liaise with planners, administrators and client teams to maintain workflow and accurate reporting.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, quality and regulatory standards.
• Deliver toolbox talks, risk assessments and site inspections.
• Support resource planning and out‑of‑hours service coordination.
• Build professional relationships with residents, clients and colleagues.
• Mentor apprentices and develop team capability.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Repairs Supervisor or Senior Operative in social housing or property maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of SOR (Schedule of Rates) coding and its application.
• Broad technical knowledge across multiple trades.
• Solid understanding of Health & Safety, RAMS and compliance processes.
• Experience managing teams and monitoring performance metrics.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and mobile work‑management systems.
• Valid CSCS card and supervisory safety training (SSSTS/SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safeguarding).
