Research Assistant – Forensic Mental Health

About the role

The Broadmoor Research Hub is seeking a motivated Research Assistant to support forensic mental health research within a high‑secure NHS environment. You will work on‑site at Broadmoor Hospital, contributing to all stages of research projects and helping to improve patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the design, data collection, analysis and reporting of research studies.
• Assist in developing and coordinating new research proposals, including co‑production with patients.
• Develop independent research projects under the supervision of the research lead.
• Facilitate two patient involvement groups and support their activities.
• Organise research presentations, conferences and related events.
• Maintain and update the Research Hub’s website.

Required profile

• Previous experience in research, preferably within healthcare or mental health settings.
• Enthusiastic and committed to enhancing the quality of care in forensic mental health.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work collaboratively with patients and staff.
