Research Nurse – Respiratory Studies (Band 5)

About the role

This permanent position offers a motivated Band 5 nurse the chance to join the Respiratory Research Team at University Hospital Southampton. You will contribute to a portfolio of respiratory studies covering asthma, COPD, interstitial lung disease and acute infections, helping to improve patient outcomes through innovative research.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver and support a range of respiratory research studies across inpatient, outpatient and community settings.
• Recruit eligible patients, obtain consent and ensure adherence to study protocols.
• Collect, record and verify clinical data in line with Good Clinical Practice standards.
• Collaborate closely with respiratory clinicians, allied health professionals and the NIHR Clinical Research Facility.
• Embed research activities within routine respiratory pathways to enhance patient experience and access to novel therapies.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (NMC) with a Band 5 contract.
• Motivated and able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Interest in respiratory medicine and clinical research.
