Resident Doctor Oncology

About the role

The Christie Private Care, part of HCA Healthcare UK, is seeking a Resident Doctor in Oncology to join its award‑winning, patient‑centred cancer service in Manchester. Working within an ‘Outstanding’ CQC‑rated joint venture with The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, you will support safe, effective and compassionate oncology care across multiple specialties.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day clinical assessment and review of in‑patients under consultant supervision.
• Collaborate with consultants in Medical Oncology, Clinical Oncology, Haemato‑oncology, Surgery and Palliative Care.
• Ensure continuity of care throughout the patient journey, including participation in multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Contribute to audits, quality‑improvement projects and clinical research initiatives.

Required profile

• Medical degree with full registration to practise in the UK.
• Current foundation or core training level appropriate for a resident doctor.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality, patient‑focused care.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Experience with systemic anti‑cancer therapies.
• Knowledge of radiotherapy techniques.
• Familiarity with interventional radiology procedures.
• Understanding of surgical oncology principles.
• Exposure to stem cell transplantation processes.
• Basic competence with robotic‑assisted technologies.
• Awareness of bispecific antibody therapies.
