Resident Engagement Lead

About the role

The Resident Engagement Lead will drive the creation and implementation of innovative ways for residents to interact with the council as their landlord. This temporary, full‑time position is based in Harrow and focuses on ensuring residents receive clear information, can provide feedback and are involved in decision‑making processes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, deliver and evaluate resident engagement initiatives that promote meaningful participation.
• Oversee the Resident Engagement Strategy in partnership with residents, housing teams and external stakeholders.
• Ensure all activities comply with relevant legislation, regulator guidance, Housing Ombudsman Service standards and TPAS requirements.
• Facilitate continuous learning and service improvement across all housing services.
• Promote a resident‑first, person‑centred culture within the organisation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in resident or community engagement within the social housing sector.
• Strong understanding of housing regulations and best practice guidance.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholder groups.
• Excellent communication and consultation skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Regulator of Social Housing guidance.
• Familiarity with Housing Ombudsman Service processes.
• Understanding of TPAS (Tenancy Protection and Advice Service) standards.
