Residential Child Support Worker – Cumbria

About the role

We are looking for dedicated Residential Child Support Workers to provide essential support to children living in residential homes across Cumbria. You will work in a variety of settings, helping children with emotional and behavioural needs while contributing to a safe, nurturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑to‑one support to children in residential settings, addressing emotional and behavioural challenges.
• Assist staff in managing challenging behaviours with a focus on safety and wellbeing.
• Promote a stable, caring atmosphere that encourages positive development.
• Follow all safeguarding policies and procedures rigorously.
• Travel to different homes within the locality, with journeys up to one hour.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 months experience in UK residential children’s services.
• Enhanced DBS check on the update service.
• Current mandatory training certificates.
• Professional references covering the last three years.
• Unrestricted right to work in the UK.
• Flexibility to work day and night shifts, including a minimum of 36.5 hours per week.
