Residential Childcare Support Worker (Casual)

About the role
We are seeking a caring Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team in Southampton on a casual basis. This role offers the chance to make a tangible difference in the lives of children and young people who need a stable, supportive home environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assist young people with daily routines such as meals, personal care and bedtime.
- Build trusting relationships and act as a positive adult role‑model.
- Encourage development of confidence, life skills and independence.
- Maintain a safe, supportive atmosphere at all times.
- Provide encouragement and emotional support throughout the day.
Required profile
- Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Health and Social Care or equivalent, or willingness to work towards it.
- Friendly, good listening and communication skills with children and colleagues.
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check (cost covered by employer).
