Residential Childcare Worker

About the role

Join the residential childcare team at Carraig View in Port Glasgow and help children and young people settle, grow and thrive in a supportive environment. You will work on‑site, delivering high‑quality care that promotes safety, wellbeing and positive outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver care in line with organisational policies, standards and best practice.
• Support children and young people with daily routines, education and personal development.
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and social skills.
• Contribute to assessments, care planning and outcome‑focused reviews.
• Safeguard and advocate for children and young people at all times.
• Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals.
• Maintain accurate records and reports.

Required profile

• Genuine commitment to supporting children and young people.
• Emotional resilience and ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to obtain or hold an SVQ Level 3 in Social Services (Children and Young People).
• SSSC registration and PVG Scheme membership.
