Residential Conveyancer (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Residential Conveyancer to join an established law firm in Haywards Heath on a permanent, full‑time basis. The role operates on a hybrid model – four days in the office and one day remote – and offers a supportive environment handling both residential and commercial property matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a full caseload of residential and commercial conveyancing matters, including purchases, sales, freehold and leasehold transactions.
• Handle specialised case types such as shared ownership, right‑to‑buy, auctions, limited‑company purchases, unregistered land, lease extensions and new builds.
• Liaise with clients, estate agents, lenders, solicitors and the Land Registry to progress transactions efficiently.
• Conduct title checks, draft contracts, prepare exchanges and oversee completions.
• Ensure compliance with internal procedures, quality standards and risk‑management requirements.
• Maintain clear communication with clients throughout each transaction.
• Collaborate with support staff to deliver a high standard of service.
• Record time accurately and bill in line with firm expectations.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or Licensed Conveyancer.
• Minimum three years’ fee‑earning experience in residential conveyancing.
• Commercial property experience is desirable but not essential.
• Proven ability to handle purchase, sale, freehold and leasehold transactions.
• Experience with shared ownership, right‑to‑buy, unregistered land, auctions or new builds is highly advantageous.
