Residential Conveyancing Solicitor

About the role

The Legists, a respected regional law firm in Devon, is seeking a Residential Conveyancing Solicitor (or equivalent) to join its growing team. You will manage a diverse portfolio of residential property transactions from instruction through to post‑completion, working closely with clients, estate agents and lenders.

Key responsibilities

• Handle freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, remortgages, refinances and transfers of equity.
• Process new‑build transactions and Help to Buy/shared‑ownership schemes.
• Maintain regular client contact and provide high‑quality client care throughout each transaction.
• Collaborate with estate agents, lenders and internal teams to ensure smooth and efficient conveyancing processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years post‑qualification experience (2+ PQE) or equivalent experience managing a conveyancing caseload.
• Detail‑oriented, organised and able to handle a busy, varied workload.
• Strong communication skills and confidence in client‑facing interactions.

Required skills

• Proven ability to manage residential conveyancing matters independently.
