Residential Development Solicitor

About the role

CRA Consulting is partnering with a leading UK commercial law firm to recruit a Residential Development Solicitor for its Leeds office. The successful candidate will join a nationally recognised residential development team, advising housebuilders, developers, landowners and public sector bodies on high‑profile projects.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on land acquisitions, option and promotion agreements and development funding arrangements.
• Draft and negotiate transfers, overage agreements, ancillary development documentation and brownfield regeneration contracts.
• Manage joint‑venture projects with registered providers and public sector organisations.
• Handle affordable housing disposals and bulk sales to PRS and build‑to‑rent investors.
• Supervise and mentor junior lawyers within the team.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships and contribute to business development activities.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with approximately 4+ years post‑qualification experience.
• Experience in residential development, real estate or commercial property law.
• Strong commercial awareness and client‑relationship skills.
• Ability to manage complex transactions confidently.
• Collaborative mindset with a willingness to mentor junior colleagues.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
