Residential Estimator – Housebuilding Projects

About the role

We are seeking a Residential Estimator to join a fast‑growing housebuilding company in Cardiff. You will be responsible for producing accurate cost estimates for high‑value residential developments and supporting the pre‑construction team from tender through to handover.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for residential projects.
• Manage subcontractor and material enquiries, analyse quotations and develop competitive bids.
• Collaborate with Buying, Surveying and Commercial teams to keep cost information and pricing databases up‑to‑date.
• Support bid adjudication, identify commercial risks and ensure smooth transition to delivery teams after successful awards.

Required profile

• Background in residential housebuilding or as a main contractor estimator.
• Proven experience preparing competitive tenders and handling subcontract enquiries.
• Desire for long‑term progression within a rapidly expanding business.

Required skills

• Strong numerical and analytical abilities for cost estimation.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and bills of quantities.
• Effective communication with internal teams and external suppliers.
