Residential Property Paralegal

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Residential Property Paralegal to join a busy provincial firm in Essex. The role supports fee earners in a full‑service residential conveyancing practice, handling both leasehold and freehold transactions from start to finish.

Key responsibilities

• Assist fee earners with residential property sales and purchases, including leasehold and freehold matters.
• Manage client files from inception through post‑completion, ensuring all documentation is accurate and timely.
• Liaise with local estate agents and other stakeholders to gather information and facilitate smooth transactions.
• Conduct property searches, draft contracts, transfer deeds and other legal documents.
• Maintain compliance with relevant property legislation and internal procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience as a residential property paralegal or in a similar conveyancing role.
• Ability to work well under pressure and make decisions in the absence of fee earners.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional approach with clients and agents.

Required skills

• Conveyancing and property law knowledge.
• Legal document drafting (contracts, transfer deeds, leases).
• Case file management and legal research.
