Residential Support Worker – Children’s Homes

About the role
Join Devon County Council as a Residential Support Worker in our Children’s Homes across Devon. You will play a vital part in providing a safe, nurturing, and home‑like environment for children and young people with complex needs, helping them achieve personal goals and prepare for the next stage of their lives.
Key responsibilities
- Support children and young people in achieving their personal wishes and aspirations.
- Assist with daily tasks, life‑skills development, and personal care.
- Create a fun, positive atmosphere and organise engaging activities.
- Proactively seek innovative methods to engage and motivate residents.
- Maintain accurate care plans and ensure compliance with Ofsted standards.
Required profile
- Ability to build positive relationships with children and young people.
- Calm and resilient in challenging situations, with strong boundary‑setting skills.
- Adaptable, quick‑thinking, and dedicated to making a difference.
- Valid UK driving licence (manual transmission preferred) and access to a personal vehicle.
Required skills
- Manual driving licence and ability to operate a manual vehicle.
What we offer
- Full‑time permanent role – 37 hours per week.
- Competitive salary ranging from £13.90 to £14.82 per hour (£26,824‑£28,598 per year).
- Additional enhancements of up to £4,000 per year.
