Residential Support Worker

About the role

Central & Southern Homes is looking for a Residential Support Worker to join its therapeutic children’s homes in Exeter. You will become a consistent, trusted adult for young people who have experienced trauma, helping them feel safe, develop relationships and build life‑skills.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 safe, nurturing care in a residential setting.
• Support children with daily routines such as school preparation, meals, and personal care.
• Build therapeutic relationships based on empathy, consistency and clear boundaries.
• Promote safeguarding, recognise concerns and follow reporting procedures.
• Facilitate activities that develop emotional regulation, confidence and independence.

Required profile

• Commitment to child‑centred, therapeutic practice.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
