Residential Support Worker – Women’s Approved Premises

About the role

This full‑time permanent position supports women transitioning from prison or community sentences within an approved premises in Bristol. You will help residents build confidence, independence and life‑skills while fostering a safe, supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop positive, professional relationships with up to 26 residents.
• Deliver daily living, wellbeing, leisure and creative sessions to enhance confidence and independence.
• Welcome and induct new residents, explaining premises rules, expectations and available support.
• Promote and maintain a safe, respectful living environment.
• Monitor resident progress and provide guidance toward community reintegration.

Required profile

• Compassionate, resilient and able to remain calm under pressure.
• Experience working with vulnerable adults, preferably in residential, housing, mental health or criminal‑justice settings.
• Female candidates only, as gender is a genuine occupational requirement.
• Commitment to supporting individuals who have experienced trauma and complex disadvantages.

Required skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to plan and deliver structured activity programmes.
• Basic health and safety awareness for residential settings.
