Resilience Officer (Emergency Planning and Resilience)

About the role

The Resilience Officer will join the Planning and Performance team to strengthen NHS Borders’ emergency preparedness and response capabilities. Working across the organisation, you will help embed resilience and business continuity planning into everyday practice.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support emergency planning, business continuity and resilience activities across NHS Borders.
• Develop, deliver and evaluate training programmes and exercises for major incidents and system‑wide disruptions.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners such as Scottish Borders Council, Emergency Services and the Local Resilience Partnership.
• Provide specialist advice on resilience, emerging threats and post‑incident learning.

Required profile

• Degree‑level education or equivalent relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of emergency planning, business continuity and resilience principles.
• Excellent communication, analytical and organisational abilities.
• Proven ability to influence and motivate others in a multi‑agency environment.
