Restaurant General Manager – Carlisle

About the role

Taco Bell is looking for a Restaurant General Manager in Carlisle, Cumbria. Reporting to the Area Coach, the RGM manages a Taco Bell restaurant within company policy to ensure customer satisfaction and profit maximisation. The role is hands-on: training employees, responding to customer service needs and modelling the right behaviour, while building a culture of recognition and motivating the team toward operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Build people capability: recruit and equip operators, build a bench of capable managers and team members, lead performance management and coach staff
• Deliver a consistent customer experience, run corporate and local marketing programmes and track, analyse and resolve customer complaints
• Control day-to-day operations by scheduling labour and ordering food and supplies for a restaurant with average daily transactions of 500-800
• Ensure health and safety, security and customer service standards are met
• Control profit and loss: follow cash control and security procedures, maintain inventory, manage labour, review financial reports and coordinate facility maintenance and capital requests
• Work with the management team on the unit's annual operating plan and sales, labour and inventory analysis

Required profile

• 2-4 years of operational management experience in QSR or retail, including P&L responsibility
• Track record of selecting, coaching and developing managers
• Proven ability to drive customer satisfaction, financial performance and employee satisfaction

Required skills

• Basic business math and accounting to manage P&L
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills
• Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic personal computer literacy
