Restructuring & Insolvency Placement – 2027

About the role

Join Menzies' Restructuring & Insolvency team as a Placement Student for 2027. You will support insolvency professionals delivering clear solutions to distressed situations, gaining exposure to administrations, liquidations and personal insolvency cases.

Key responsibilities

• Produce standard letters and forms using internal systems to meet regulatory obligations.
• Handle written and telephone correspondence promptly and professionally.
• Liaise with creditors, employees and directors of insolvent estates, providing feedback.
• Coordinate with solicitors, chattel agents and debt collection agents to maximise asset realisations.
• Collate information and assist in preparing reports.
• Take ownership of cases, manage workload and keep line managers updated on progress.
• Support other team members as required and contribute to the firm’s “work winning team” ethos.
• Potentially travel to client sites away from the office.

Required profile

• Collaborative attitude and eagerness to take on new challenges.
• Minimum 2:2 undergraduate degree in any discipline.
• On track to achieve at least 2 A‑levels (A‑C) plus another A‑level or equivalent.
• 5 GCSEs (A*‑C/9‑4) including Maths and English Language or equivalent.
• Ability to absorb new information and adapt quickly.
• Comfortable working with numbers and strong attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to explain financial information in an accessible, supportive manner.
