Retail Manager

About the role

As a Retail Manager at Specsavers Plymstock, you will lead, develop and inspire a team to deliver exceptional customer care each day. Working closely with the Store Manager and wider leadership team, you will help create a supportive culture that drives store success.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a retail team to achieve high standards of customer service.
• Support, develop and coach colleagues, including onboarding new staff.
• Manage recruitment, performance conversations and wellbeing initiatives.
• Oversee day‑to‑day store operations and ensure smooth running.
• Collaborate with the Store Manager to meet sales and service targets.

Required profile

• Proven people‑management experience (essential).
• Ability to support and develop team members, handle challenging conversations and promote wellbeing.
• Strong leadership mindset focused on supporting others to succeed.
• Optical experience is desirable but not essential – full training provided.

Required skills

What we offer

• Salary £30,000‑£32,500 per year, dependent on experience.
• Full‑time role, 40 hours per week.
