Retail Sales Advisor

About the role

We are seeking a friendly and motivated Retail Sales Advisor to join a busy showroom in Stevenage. You will be the first point of contact for customers, helping them find parts, hardware, clothing and providing an excellent service experience both in‑person and over the phone.

Key responsibilities

• Assist customers in the showroom with product selection, parts identification and sales transactions.
• Process orders, receive goods and distribute stock to the workshop and shop floor.
• Handle payments accurately and maintain cash registers.
• Support workshop staff by locating and supplying the correct parts.
• Maintain a tidy, well‑presented showroom and ensure stock levels are up to date.
• Work on a rota that includes weekdays and occasional Saturdays, with overtime paid at time and a half.

Required profile

• Enjoys talking to people and delivering high‑quality customer service.
• Comfortable working in a busy environment and staying calm under pressure.
• Confident communicator face‑to‑face, by phone and email.
• Retail or showroom experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Full UK driving licence and reasonable fitness for physical tasks.
• Target‑driven, reliable, well‑presented and detail‑oriented.

Required skills

• Basic computer skills, including email and internet use.

What we offer

• Full‑time permanent role with a salary between £28,000 and £30,500 per year.
• Overtime paid at time and a half.
