Retail Sales Assistant – 30 hrs/week

About the role

Join Topps Tiles, the UK’s leading tile retailer, as a Sales Assistant in our Longwell Green store. Working 30 hours per week, you’ll help customers visualise and realise their home‑improvement projects while earning a competitive hourly rate plus commission.

Key responsibilities

• Build lasting relationships with trade and retail customers using a consultative sales approach.
• Ask targeted questions to understand needs and recommend the best tile products.
• Provide creative design ideas on colour, style, layout and product combinations.
• Drive sales through expert product knowledge and confident closing techniques.
• Assist with stock handling, including lifting and moving heavy boxes.

Required profile

• Outgoing, friendly and energetic personality.
• Willingness to learn about tiles and retail sales.
• Ability to work weekends and lift heavy items.

Required skills

• Strong communication and questioning skills.
• Basic numeracy for handling transactions.
