Retail Sales Manager – Automotive

About the role

Join a leading automotive retailer as a Retail Sales Manager, overseeing the daily performance of the sales floor at Lloyd MINI in Cockermouth. Reporting to the General Sales Manager, you will drive enquiry management, sales strategy, stock control and coaching to ensure the showroom reflects the Volvo and Lloyd brand values.

Key responsibilities

• Own daily sales operations and lead follow‑ups across all channels, maximising conversion and exceeding targets.
• Monitor sales KPIs, ensure prompt professional enquiry handling and maintain showroom standards.
• Coach and develop Sales Executives through regular 1:1s, daily goal setting and energising morning meetings.
• Collaborate with the GSM and marketing team on campaigns, generate ideas to boost traffic and track results.
• Ensure compliance with FCA, GDPR and Volvo UK standards, report performance forecasts and support audits.

Required profile

• Previous experience in automotive sales.
• Demonstrated sense of urgency, energy and commitment.
• Strong understanding of modern lead management and CRM systems.
• Proven ability to lead, coach and inspire a sales team to exceed targets.
• Excellent communication, organisational and customer service skills.
