Retail Tailor – Denim Alterations

About the role

Levi’s® is seeking a skilled Tailor to join the Summit store in Birmingham, AL. The role focuses on providing high‑quality denim alteration services while delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic alterations such as hemming, patching, repair, and tapering.
• Execute technical tailoring for items beyond jeans, using specialized equipment.
• Maintain detailed appearance‑altering processes to meet brand standards.
• Provide outstanding customer service and educate store teams on tailoring offerings.
• Assist on the sales floor and in fitting rooms as needed.
• Adhere to all Levi’s® policies and program requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred; formal apparel design training a plus.
• Minimum 1 year of sewing/tailoring experience with strong knowledge of jeans construction.
• Thorough understanding of denim industry trends and textile fabrics.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work flexible evenings and weekends.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and use tailoring tools throughout the shift.
