Retail Van Driver

About the role

The British Red Cross is looking for a Retail Van Driver in Guernsey on a 3-month fixed-term contract. You will manage deliveries, collections and stock transfers for Red Cross shops, working closely with Shop Managers as the main point of contact for stock matters, and promote the Red Cross as the charity of choice for stock donations in the local community.

Key responsibilities

• Manage deliveries, collections and stock transfers, and pick up donations from corporate partners
• Collect stock from warehouses across the country and distribute it where it is needed locally
• Keep the vehicle safe and sound, park it securely, keep it clean and maintain it, including regular servicing and safety checks
• Manage health and safety issues, follow procedures and comply with national instructions, policies, procedures and legislation

Required profile

• Manual UK driving licence held for at least two years
• Knowledge of current laws and best practices for driving, vehicles and road traffic operations
• Previous experience in van driving, deliveries, basic vehicle maintenance and handling administrative paperwork
• Strong communication skills and a proven ability to provide excellent customer care
