RICS Residential/Building Surveyor – South Devon

About the role

We are seeking an experienced RICS Residential or Building Surveyor to join our small team in South Devon. You will work across a patch that includes parts of Devon, Somerset and Dorset, focusing on Torbay and surrounding areas. The role involves carrying out RICS Level 2 Home Surveys as a core duty, with Level 3 surveys welcomed for confident candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct RICS Level 2 Home Surveys (and Level 3 where appropriate) for residential properties.
• Manage your own diary, schedule site visits and liaise with office support for bookings and administration.
• Travel to survey locations across the region using a company‑provided vehicle (full UK driving licence required).
• Utilise specialised equipment such as Protimeter MMS3, drone, borescope and crack‑gauge calipers.
• Provide clear, professional reports to clients and ensure all health‑and‑safety requirements are met.

Required profile

• Qualified RICS Residential or Building Surveyor with experience in Level 2 Home Surveys.
• Based in or around South Devon and able to travel within the patch.
• Holder of a full UK driving licence, right to work in the UK and willing to undergo a DBS check.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
