Ride-On Mower Team Leader

About the role

This position is for an experienced Ride-On Mower Team Leader to manage daily grounds‑maintenance operations in Hailsham and surrounding areas. The role combines hands‑on mowing with supervising a small crew to ensure public spaces are kept tidy and safe.

Key responsibilities

• Operate ride‑on lawn mowers across verges, parks, roundabouts and other public areas.
• Lead and support a small grounds‑maintenance team in daily tasks.
• Perform grass cutting, strimming, hedge trimming and pruning duties.
• Carry out daily equipment checks, report faults and ensure machinery is well maintained.
• Assist with litter picking and keep public spaces clean.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures and maintain high quality standards.

Required profile

• Valid UK driving licence.
• Proven experience operating ride‑on lawn mowers.
• Background in grounds maintenance, landscaping, gardening or similar outdoor work.
• Ability to start immediately and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Experience leading or supporting a small team is advantageous.

What we offer

• Hourly rate of £13.00 – £14.30 plus holiday pay.
• Temporary contract with the possibility of permanent placement.
• Company van and training provided.
• Regular Monday‑Friday hours (7:00 am – 5:00 pm).
