Risk Assessment Unit Analyst (Financial Crime)

About the role

Barclays' BPL unit, part of the Financial Crime Compliance function, is looking for a Risk Assessment Unit Analyst in Northampton or Glasgow. You will work with key stakeholders to understand the financial crime risk exposure of Barclaycard Payments, promote and support proactive risk management, governance and control, and help ExFo and management ensure risk is managed within the set risk appetite and in line with group policies, legislation and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate aspects of the bank's operations and individuals to identify non-compliance, fraud, misconduct or other unethical behaviour
• Evaluate risks associated with non-compliance and implement risk mitigation strategies
• Lead investigations into alleged violations of policies, regulations or laws
• Deliver training to raise awareness of compliance and ethical conduct
• Document investigations and recommend corrective actions
• Use data analytics tools and assess internal and external information and intelligence
• Meet external legal and regulatory reporting obligations where applicable

Required profile

• First-hand experience managing high-risk KYC and EDD cases
• Stakeholder management at Senior Executive Committee level, challenging the status quo and driving strategic solutions
• Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, negotiation and influencing skills
• Ability to prioritise changing business needs and lead with a diverse and inclusive style
• Desirable: recognised Financial Crime/Anti-Money Laundering qualification (e.g. ACAMS, ICA)
• Desirable: good knowledge of Barclaycard Payments businesses, clients and high-risk sectors, and of general IT applications
