Risk & Compliance Lawyer

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Risk & Compliance Lawyer to join a fast‑growing legal team on the Hertfordshire/Essex border. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with 2‑6 years of experience to deepen expertise in data protection, AML, regulatory compliance and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Handle day‑to‑day data protection compliance matters, including subject access requests and data‑breach responses.
• Support client onboarding processes and conduct AML/KYC checks.
• Maintain ongoing AML compliance in line with UK regulatory requirements.
• Manage and respond to risk queries and client complaints.
• Conduct file audits, compliance reviews and draft responses to complaints.

Required profile

• 2‑6 years of experience within a law firm or similar legal environment.
• Qualified law degree or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.
• Willingness to learn and develop in a fast‑paced setting.
