Risk & Controls Manager – Non-Financial Risk

About the role

The Risk & Controls Manager (Non-Financial Risk) will lead the SCUK Risk and Controls team to mitigate conduct and business detriment risks, deliver data‑driven investigations, and ensure effective customer redress. Reporting to the Controls Oversight Service Improvement (COSI) Manager, you will work in a hybrid model with at least three days per week on site.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct risk‑based investigations into system, people or process deficiencies.
• Analyse root causes using assurance methodologies and provide data‑driven insights.
• Design and execute customer redress remediation and recommend system/process changes.
• Maintain Heracles and the issues management tracker.
• Lead cross‑functional forums, JV service meetings and line‑2/legal guidance integration.
• Produce quality issue closure reports for the Operations Committee and ExCo papers.
• Support SCUK projects, identify strategic improvements and develop operational recommendations.
• Coach and develop team members, manage performance and promote an inclusive culture.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading risk investigations and root‑cause analysis.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Experience working cross‑functionally with senior stakeholders.
• Ability to challenge line‑2 functions and present strategic recommendations.
• Demonstrated capability to coach, develop and manage a team.
