Risk Manager (Hybrid, Liverpool)

About the role

The Risk Manager will report to the Director of Governance and Assurance and lead the development, embedding and continuous improvement of an enterprise risk management framework across Riverside Group. This senior position works to ensure risks are identified, assessed and managed in line with the organisation’s risk appetite.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an effective risk management framework aligned with Enterprise Risk Management principles.
• Identify, assess and monitor risks, ensuring they are managed within the defined risk appetite.
• Provide high‑quality assurance and insight to the Board and Committees.
• Act as a trusted adviser to senior leaders, supporting strong governance and regulatory compliance.
• Promote a risk‑aware culture throughout the organisation.

Required profile

• Experience in a risk management, audit or governance function within a regulated environment.
• Proven track record of developing or embedding risk frameworks and assurance processes.
• Experience working with Boards and senior stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of enterprise risk management principles, internal controls and governance requirements.
• Ability to influence and challenge constructively at senior levels.
