Road Freight Operator – European Road Freight Forwarder

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Road Freight Operator to manage European road freight shipments from our North East England hub. The successful candidate will coordinate collections, deliveries and transport movements across the UK and Europe, ensuring a seamless end‑to‑end service for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end European road freight shipments, from booking to delivery.
• Coordinate collections, deliveries and transport movements with customers, carriers and overseas partners.
• Maintain regular communication with customers, providing updates and resolving operational issues.
• Ensure accurate completion of operational documentation in line with company procedures.
• Monitor shipment progress, proactively resolve delays or service issues.
• Produce customer reports, KPIs and operational updates as required.
• Attend customer meetings and support account‑management activities.
• Promote additional logistics services where appropriate.

Required profile

• Previous experience in European road freight forwarding.
• Strong understanding of European transport operations and EU customs procedures.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong organisational abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously.
