Road Freight Operator

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Road Freight Operator to join a specialist logistics provider in Woking. You will manage time‑critical, temperature‑controlled shipments across the UK and Europe for the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors, ensuring compliance and high‑quality customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate end‑to‑end road freight shipments from booking to final delivery.
• Arrange collections and deliveries with hauliers, carriers and transport partners.
• Monitor shipment progress and resolve delays, route deviations or operational issues.
• Liaise with customers, overseas partners, drivers, warehouses and third‑party service providers.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and update operational systems such as BOXTOP and Sequoia.
• Ensure all transport documentation is completed accurately and on time.
• Provide regular shipment updates to customers and support quotation and pricing enquiries.
• Adhere to GDP, pharmaceutical and company compliance requirements.

Required profile

• Previous experience in road freight operations, freight forwarding or transport planning.
• Knowledge of UK and European road freight movements.
• Experience handling temperature‑controlled and pharmaceutical shipments.
• Strong organisational ability and capacity to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
• Proactive problem‑solving attitude and ability to work under pressure.
