Roadside Mechanic – Wembley

About the role

The RAC is looking for a Roadside Mechanic to join its Patrol division in Wembley. You will be the first point of contact for members who need urgent vehicle assistance, working from your own driveway and travelling across the local area.

Key responsibilities

• Perform on‑site mechanical repairs, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support.
• Handle common faults such as flat batteries, tyre changes and more complex fault‑finding.
• Provide clear, confident advice and reassurance to members during breakdown situations.
• Maintain accurate service records and report any recurring issues.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance with at least 2 years’ experience, or 5 years’ experience as a vehicle technician/mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 penalty points.
• Ability to work independently, start and finish each day from home.
