Roadside Technician – Bournemouth

About the role

The RAC is looking for a Roadside Technician to join its Bournemouth cluster. You will be the first point of contact for members who experience vehicle breakdowns, providing fast, reliable repairs and diagnostics while starting and finishing each shift from your own driveway.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to roadside breakdown calls across Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and surrounding areas.
• Perform mechanical repairs such as battery replacement, tyre changes and fault‑finding on light vehicles.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve complex vehicle issues.
• Maintain accurate service records and communicate status updates to members.
• Adhere to health and safety standards while working on public roads.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance with at least 2 years of experience, **or** 5 years of experience as a vehicle technician/mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than six penalty points.
• Ability to work independently and deliver excellent member service.
