Roadside Technician – Bristol

About the role

The RAC is looking for a skilled Roadside Technician to join its Bristol cluster. You will be based at home each day, responding to breakdown calls across Bristol and surrounding areas, ensuring members get back on the road quickly and safely.

Key responsibilities

• Perform on‑site mechanical repairs, vehicle diagnostics and emergency breakdown assistance.
• Handle tasks such as flat‑battery replacement, tyre changes and complex fault‑finding.
• Maintain accurate service records and communicate status updates to members.
• Utilise company‑provided RAC van, fuel card, uniform, tools and diagnostic kit.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with at least 2 years experience, or 5 years as a vehicle technician/mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 penalty points.
