Roadside Technician – Milton Keynes

About the role

The RAC is looking for a Roadside Technician to join its Milton Keynes cluster. You will be the first point of contact for members who need urgent vehicle assistance, working from your own driveway and covering a local area that includes Milton Keynes, Bletchley, Newport Pagnell and surrounding towns.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site mechanical repairs, battery jumps, tyre changes and fault‑finding for breakdowns.
• Diagnose vehicle issues using diagnostic tools and deliver quick, reliable solutions.
• Maintain a professional and reassuring presence for members during emergencies.
• Manage daily work schedule, ensuring timely response to calls within the assigned region.
• Keep the RAC van, tools and diagnostic kit stocked and ready for use.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance with at least 2 years’ experience, **or** 5 years’ experience as a vehicle technician/mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 penalty points.
• Ability to work independently and start/finish the day from home.
