Roadside Technician – Night Shift (Milton Keynes)

About the role

The RAC is looking for dedicated Night Shift Roadside Technicians to join its Patrol division in Milton Keynes. You will work from home each day, travelling to local breakdowns across the Luton and Northampton clusters to get members back on the road quickly and safely.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site mechanical repairs, vehicle diagnostics and emergency breakdown support during night hours.
• Resolve common issues such as flat batteries, tyre changes and complex fault‑finding.
• Start and finish each shift at your home base, using a company‑provided RAC van, fuel card, uniform, tools and diagnostic kit.
• Maintain high levels of member service and safety while working independently.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with at least 2 years experience, **or** 5 years experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 penalty points.
