Roadside Technician – Oldham & Bury

About the role

Join the RAC as a Roadside Technician and help keep the UK moving. You’ll provide on‑the‑spot mechanical repairs, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support for members across the Oldham and Bury area.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver expert roadside mechanical repairs, including tyre changes, battery replacements and complex fault‑finding.
• Perform vehicle diagnostics using RAC‑provided equipment.
• Provide emergency breakdown assistance and get members back on the road quickly.
• Start and finish each shift from home, covering the Oldham/Bury cluster.
• Maintain and operate your own RAC van, fuel card, uniform and tool kit.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with at least 2 years’ experience, or 5 years’ experience as a vehicle technician/mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 penalty points.
