Roadside Technician – Stockport

About the role

Join the RAC’s Patrol division as a Roadside Technician, providing fast, reliable automotive assistance to members across the Stockport cluster. You’ll work from home, travelling to local breakdowns and ensuring drivers get back on the road safely.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mechanical roadside repairs, vehicle diagnostics and emergency breakdown support.
• Handle common tasks such as flat‑battery replacement, tyre changes and complex fault‑finding.
• Start and finish each day at your home base, covering areas including Manchester, Sale, Altrincham and surrounding towns.
• Maintain and operate a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, uniform, tools and diagnostic kit.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with at least 2 years’ experience, **or** 5 years’ experience as a vehicle technician/mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 penalty points.
