Roadside Technician – Warrington

About the role

The RAC is looking for a Roadside Technician to join its Warrington cluster. You will be based at home each day, travelling locally to assist members with breakdowns, repairs and diagnostics across Warrington and surrounding towns.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site mechanical repairs, tyre changes, battery jumps and fault‑finding for breakdown‑prone vehicles.
• Diagnose vehicle issues using the RAC diagnostic kit and resolve them efficiently.
• Maintain accurate service records and communicate status updates to members.
• Ensure the RAC van, fuel card, uniform and tools are kept in good condition.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance with at least 2 years’ experience, **or** 5 years’ experience as a vehicle technician/mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 penalty points.
• Ability to work independently, manage a flexible shift pattern and deliver high‑quality customer service.
