Rolling Stock Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Rolling Stock Engineer to join our specialist team that refurbishes, exports and commissions locomotives and passenger trains worldwide. Based in Dereham, Norfolk, you will split your time between UK depots and international client sites, ensuring that each vehicle meets the highest engineering standards before entering service.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and repair Class 43 HST power cars and Mk3 coaching stock.
• Prepare locomotives and rolling stock for export to overseas customers.
• Support commissioning projects on client sites abroad.
• Collaborate with client drivers and maintenance teams to resolve technical issues.
• Provide technical expertise across a range of rolling‑stock projects.
• Contribute to the development of the company’s engineering capability.

Required profile

• Proven experience working with Class 43 HST power cars.
• Strong knowledge of Mk3 coaching stock.
• Hands‑on engineering background with a practical approach.
• Willingness to travel frequently within the UK and internationally.
