Roofer Improver

About the role

Join Hyde's Property Maintenance team as a Roofer Improver. You will work alongside experienced roofers on real projects across Rochester and surrounding areas, gaining hands‑on experience in roof repair, maintenance and replacement.

Key responsibilities

• Support qualified roofers with repairs, maintenance and replacements.
• Strip old roofing materials, prepare surfaces and lay new materials.
• Carry materials and tools to and from work areas.
• Assist with fixing leaks, damaged tiles and roof coverings.
• Clear gutters and downpipes to prevent water build‑up.
• Load and unload materials, ensuring tools are stored safely.
• Use ladders, harnesses and safety equipment correctly at all times.
• Report any hazards, accidents or damage immediately.
• Provide polite and respectful service to customers in their homes.

Required profile

• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Physically fit, comfortable working at height and lifting materials.
• Basic knowledge of roofing materials, tools and safe working practices.
• Ability to follow instructions from experienced roofers.
• Team‑oriented mindset.
• Full UK driving licence.
